Does Solid Oil expire or go bad?
Solid Oil is a plant-based product and is shelf-stable indefinitely as long as it’s sealed and stored in a cool dry place, allowing you to get the most value out of your Solid Oil purchase.
Can I reuse solidified oil to cook with later?
No, while Solid Oil is a natural, plant-based product, its primary use is to help with the disposal of household and commercial cooking oils.
Is Solid Oil safe for trash bins and compost bins?
Solid oil helps cooking oil clean-up easy for disposal in your household trash bin. Some oils can also be disposed of in compost and municipal green bins. Please check with local municipalities and local ordinances to be sure.
Will solidified oil melt in a hot trash bin?
No, solidified oil melts at a temperature of around 140°F. Normal summer temperatures should not cause solidified oils to melt in the trash bin.
How long does oil solidifier take to harden?
The solidification process depends on the amount of oil used. As a general rule, regular amounts of cooking oil take approximately 30 minutes to solidify.
How much oil solidifier powder do I need to add?
It is recommended to apply one scoop of Solid Oil powder to every 1 cup/250 ml of cooking oil to solidify.
